Inspired by the BBC drama, Sherlock Holmes, eBay, has seen sales of Sherlock memorabilia rise by more than double on the site, with sales of Sherlock DVDs rising 45% compared to this time last
month.
Sales of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock books have soared 71% since Christmas. The sale of The Hound of the Baskervilles has risen by 62% taking number one spot as the most popular Sherlock novel of all time, closely followed by The Sign of Four and A Study in Scarlet.
It seems that Sherlock fans are not only broadening their book collections this January, but their wardrobes too. Sales of Sherlock inspired deerstalker hats have risen by 38%, as the nation is inspired by the detective’s classic style
