As award season excitement continues to build and with box office hit, American Hustle, expected to clean-up at both the Oscars and BAFTA’s, eBay.co.uk has spotted that sales of 70’s inspired pieces have soared across fashion and home ware.
The on-screen glamour of Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence has encouraged the public’s shopping habits, as sales of the iconic 1970s wrap dresses , first made famous 40 years ago by Diane von Furstenberg, have shot up by 201%. Sales of gold bangles and stilettos are also subject to the American Hustle effect with sales rising by 233% and 103% retrospectively.
From inspirational dresses to desired tresses, the effortlessly tousled locks of Lawrence and Adams have seen Brits flocking to eBay in hope of emulating the full American Hustle look, sales of heated rollers have risen by 118% over the past month.
Inspiration continues to strike Brits further as 70s style home décor is being welcomed back into the nations homes. Interest in shag-pile carpets has risen by 75%, whilst lava lamps have seen a 25% rise and the sales of daring floral wallpaper has surged by 151%
