Over the coming weeks and months, eBay will introduce changes to the search, buying and selling formats on eBay.com.au. These changes include:
- Free insertion fees for 99c auction listings
- Optimisation of search functionality
- New mandatory inclusions for handling time and returns
- New store fees for media categories
Free insertion fees 99c auction listings
From early April 2011, eligible sellers listing auctions starting at 99c will get insertion fees free for up to 15 items per month. With no up-front fees to list, that means if you don’t sell, you don’t pay.
Optimisation of search functionality
Best Match, eBay’s default sort order for search results, is being optimised in March 2011. These improvements will help buyers to find the most relevant listings from sellers who offer the best service, value and products.
New mandatory inclusions for handling time and returns
Handling time and returns policies are not always clearly stated in listings, which can create confusion for buyers. As a result, from May 2011, all sellers on eBay.com.au must specify a handling time and a returns policy in their listings.
New store fees for media categories
Following the success of Basic Store media fee changes for Books and Music listings last year; we’re extending these pricing changes to the Movies, TV Shows and Games categories, as well as to all eBay Store levels in April 2011.
