eBay is the second most influential brand among consumers in Australia, according to the Most Influential Brands 2015 survey by leading market researcher, Ipsos.
Jumping three places this year to number two on the list, eBay outranked Microsoft, Facebook and Apple for influence, just losing out on the top spot to Google.
In its second year, the Most Influential Brands study measures the influence of brands based on five factors identified by Ipsos as driving influence: engagement, trustworthy, leading edge, corporate citizenship and presence. One hundred Australian brands were measured and ranked based on their level of influence, with technology and digital brands dominating the final results.
“For a brand to be seen as influential, it must impact or change the way people shop, think, act and behave,” said Gillian O’Sullivan, Ipsos Marketing Managing Director. “A brand needs to become a fundamental part of life, shape consumers’ desires and help them get through their day.”
In other wins for eBay Australia, its Christmas Shoppable Windows campaign was shortlisted for two top marketing and communications industry awards – CommsCon’s Best PR-led Event or Activation of the Year and the 2015 Mumbrella Award for Innovation. While eBay narrowly missed out on the CommsCon prize, the Mumbrella awards will take place in June.
