StubHub is giving the gift of music. The company, in partnership with Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation (MHOF), recently donated nearly $140,000 in musical instruments to three San Francisco Bay Area schools. The collaboration between StubHub and MHOF is part of StubHub’s NEXT STAGE Benefit Concert Series, a nationwide concert tour with 100 percent of the ticket proceeds going toward helping school music programs across the country.
StubHub employee volunteers personally delivered musical instruments at KIPP Bridge Charter School in Oakland — as well as a surprise donation of backpacks and school supplies — to 350 students.
"More research than ever before is showing that arts education is vital to youth development and future achievement, yet these are the very programs that have fallen on the chopping block throughout the country,” said Emma Leggat, StubHub’s Head of Corporate Communications & Social Responsibility (CSR). “We're proud that StubHub is committing to investing in the fans and artists of the future by supporting music education in multiple ways."
As part of its Next Stage Benefit Concert Series and partnership with Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, StubHub and the StubHub Foundation (a corporate-advised fund of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation) have contributed more than $250,000, which in turn is driving $50,000 in musical instrument donations in each of the five Next Stage Benefit Concert Series markets (LA, Nashville, San Francisco, Chicago and New York).
