eBay and the Russian Post recently announced a collaboration aimed at the development of Russian retail exports and simplification of logistics procedures for local exporters. The integration will allow Russian sellers to process documents and pay for international shipping online without having to leave their office or home. The time to process a package in the Russian Post office for eBay sellers has now shortened from an average 1.5 hours to 3 minutes.
Full access to information on the Russian Post service is accessed through a seller’s personal account on the platform eBaymag.com, which is a special service for exporters from Russia and Eastern Europe. The service allows you to place products simultaneously on eight eBay websites in different countries in just a few minutes. All product data is automatically translated into 10 languages and prices are set in local currency.
Tab Orders on eBaymag.com help sellers automatically calculate the cost of shipment via Russian Post, compile necessary documents and make online payments. In addition, buyers from 192 countries may now track their orders through a personal account on eBay using an automatically assigned tracking number from the Russian Post. The collaboration has made international shipment easier and faster for eBay export sellers in two ways:
- They may drop off prepaid parcels at more than 500 delivery centers without having to wait in line.
- They may ship parcels with compiled documents in all 42,000 of the Russian Post offices.
“eBay’s partnership with the Russian Post will become an effective tool for Russian entrepreneurs to grow their international sales,” said the Russian Post Vice General Manager Sergey Malyshev.
“eBay became the first marketplace in the country to offer a simplified process of export delivery with the Russian Post,” said Ilya Kretov, eBay GM for Russia, Israel and HiPo region. “Today, 25,000 Russian sellers on eBay will be able to send their goods to buyers all over the world easier and faster, and thus receive more new orders and develop their business on our site. Such partnerships are key to the development of the Russian export, which is foreseen to grow double-digit times in the coming years.”
