Introducing ebayinc.com

Richard Brewer-Hay

As some of you already know we’ve been working on a project behind the scenes that I’m really excited to share with you all today. For those of you that don’t know, believe it or not, there has never been an official corporate website that represents the corporate information regarding eBay Inc. and all of the people and businesses behind it. Until 10am PT this morning, if you wanted to find information regarding our company – -whether it be the latest press releases, financial information or executive bios you had to dig at least two pages deep within a sub-page of eBay.com.

Today, I’m excited to unveil ebayinc.com. The site incorporates all the information that existed on the many sub-pages of ebay.com and adds a lot of additional content to keep you informed as much as possible.

eBay Inc. - eBay Inc.

You may notice some subtle design changes here on Ink too – including the link on the homepage that takes you directly to ebayinc.com.There are a lot of things to explore there so I won’t breakdown every section for you here. I encourage you to go see for yourself. However, there are a couple of features to the site, that I am particularly excited about.

eBay Connect - eBay Inc.

eBay Connect
There is an entirely new section to ebayinc.com called Connect that brings all of our official blog feeds and announcement feeds into one central location. In addition to a standard blog roll and feed updates, you’ll now be able to easily share blogs and eBay marketplace announcements through the “share” tab to the right of the feed. We will also be incorporating survey tools and promos on the top half of the page (currently there is an ad for eBay Ink) that I envision us possibly incorporating a live Twitter feed into scrolling live.

Customization
The other aspect of the new corporate website that I’m pretty fired up about is the customization capabilities on certain sections of the site. For example, if you’re only interested in the eBay Marketplace, then you can check the “eBay/Marketplace” box at the top of the blog feed, press release feed, and company history to receive only that information. The same goes for PayPal, Sustainability, etc.

Also, please keep in mind that this is a new site. We’ve done our best to eliminate bugs and glitches before rolling out to you, however I’m sure there are still some out there. Please let us know! You can email ebayinc@ebay.com and of course, use the comment section below.

Please give us your feedback. I’ve been working with the team on this for a number of months now so it has turned into kind of a labor of love. Having said that please let us know what you’d like to see added – what do you like most about it? Least? This is by no means a final product, it’s a launching pad for us to communicate and interact on a higher level as a company of individuals and I look forward to enhancing and expanding on this platform over the coming months.

Cheers!
