eBay India has partnered with government-operated India Post to open fifteen dedicated counters for eBay sellers across ten Indian cities. The new counters provide a seamless delivery service for goods bought and sold online.
Over the last three months, the dedicated eBay counters have been operational in key cities: Jalandhar, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Delhi, Surat, Jodhpur and Kolkata.
Previously, eBay sellers in India only had access to commercial logistic providers who could ship parcels that were 500 grams and above. This initiative not only makes shipping faster and more convenient, it enables sellers to send smaller and lighter parcels.
Since the opening of the counters, over 300 sellers have used the service, with an estimated dispatch of over 1,900 shipments per day.
“The partnership with India Post has contributed significantly in simplifying product dispatch service for our seller community,” said Navin Mistry, Head Retail Exports and Lifestyle Category for eBay India. “The counters have cut down wait time for sellers, which helps them focus on growing their business and the services are made available to sellers at reasonable prices. eBay India will continue to engage with India Post to open many more such dedicated counters.”
There are over 70,000 eBay sellers in India who sell domestically and internationally to over 162 million buyers.
