Bom dia! eBay said today it is launching its brand-new eBay Moda fashion mobile app for Brazil. The app, which is eBay’s first specifically designed product for the Brazilian market, lets fashion enthusiasts shop for global brands and products from the palm of their hand and will first be available for iPhone and iPad users.
The app is in Portuguese, the primary language of Brazil, with the option to toggle between Portuguese and English. Payments are shown in reais as well as U.S. dollars. Users can also personalize their app homepage with their own interests through the eBay Feed and view country-specific deals and events.
"eBay is committed to enabling consumers to shop the world, and now we are focusing specifically on Brazilian shoppers," said Luis Arjona, eBay's head of local operations in Brazil. "The eBay Moda fashion app – specifically designed with Brazilian shoppers in mind – gives them access to the world's fashion inventory at attractive prices – anytime, anywhere."
The app launch is part of eBay's larger plan to deliver selection and value to consumers in emerging markets, specifically Russia and Brazil.
Fashion* is the largest category on eBay globally, driving more than $3.5 billion in GMV (gross merchandise volume) for the quarter ended June 30, 2013. In 2012, the fashion category grew approx 18% YoY.

According to Euromonitor, in the next four years, as much as 91% of Internet user growth will come from BRIC and emerging markets -- a development that uniquely positions eBay to win globally as the commerce landscape evolves.
