For more than 17 years eBay has deployed our eBay for Charity platform to raise funds for tens of thousands of non-profit organizations that support people and communities in need.
Back in 2001, we held our first charity fundraising effort, which raised money for the victims and families of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Since then, the eBay community has raised more than $810 million through eBay for Charity.
In light of the current crisis created by the forced separation of families at the US border, we are now raising funds for organizations that provide legal aid and advocacy services to help reunite those families.
Today, we are launching the “Help Reunite Families” campaign, where the eBay community can donate to organizations directly. 100% of proceeds will go toward organizations leading the effort to reunite families, including: The Young Center, a champion of immigrant children rights; Florence Project, an organization that provides free legal services for those in immigration custody; and, Public Counsel, the largest pro bono law firm in America.
Our engagement in this effort isn’t about politics; it’s about human rights, the safety and welfare of children and staying true to our values as a global commerce leader. If you’re interested in contributing, visit eBay.com/ebayforcharity.
