Monday August 29th marked the official launch of the eBay Customer Guarantee (eCG) – equivalent to eBay Money Back Guarantee (eMBG) – for our France, Italy, and Spain (FR.IT.ES) markets. In Dublin, Paris, Madrid, Milan, London, Zurich, Temara, Tirana, and Lisbon the teams came together to celebrate the program that has been many years in the making.
“This is a big day for our markets in France, Italy, and Spain with the launch of eBay’s Customer Guarantee,” commented Eben Sermon, Vice President of EEC.
With the launch of eCG, eBay will provide even more protection for our French, Italian, and Spanish Buyers and we’ve also improved the process for all return requests. Our buyers will get active resolution support from eBay, and if there is a problem with the purchased item or they haven’t received the item, they can contact eBay directly for help.
This development ensures that our shoppers can be confident throughout the shopping experience in FR.IT.ES. The change will also permit eBay to take care of our customers in the post purchase experience.
Luke Tuohey, a Customer Solutions Agent in Dublin, said: “Our Customers are now able to buy with confidence and it feels good that we’re able to offer them this guarantee. Now we can fully assist our customers and offer them the protection they deserve.”
In Dublin, to commemorate the occasion the team organized an event putting together care bags for the volunteer organization Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH) in support of the local homeless population. The team packed more than forty bags with toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, wipes, clean underwear, and food items.
ICHH thanked the team on their Facebook page.
For the celebrations, the EEC Leadership team created a video specially to say “Thank you!” to those who made eCG a reality.
Fabian Koenig, Head of UK Trust Marketing, said of the launch: “This has been a truly cross functional effort with tireless work from numerous teams, and this wouldn’t have been made possible with the determination and grit from a number of people across the globe.”
