Each year, more than 70 countries across the world celebrate LGBT Pride. June was chosen for LGBT Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. Pride events are commonly held during this month to recognize the start of the movement towards LGBT equality.
eBay celebrates Pride to support and raise awareness of the progress the community has made, but also to recognize the work that still needs to be done.
This year, eBay’s United in Pride community of inclusion organized events at more than 12 locations across our company – including Austin, Berlin, Dublin, Israel, Istanbul, Madrid, Milan, New York, Prague, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, the UK and Zurich – kicking off in June and continuing on through August. The theme for this year’s events is “Love with Pride.” eBay’s participation reflects our company’s commitment to inclusivity and celebrates our diversity of our employees and communities of buyers and sellers.
Approximately 3,000 eBay employees worldwide, along with their family and friends, are expected to participate in Pride events this year. Check out the photos below to see how our employees around the world have celebrated!
